Lavender

Lavender
Lavender is a Pomodoro-based time management platform designed to boost productivity and organization for students and professionals.
Platform Concept
Lavender is a Pomodoro timer and productivity platform that helps users improve time management and task organization. Unlike tools like Notion, Evernote, and Asana, Lavender is specifically designed to enhance focus and build lasting productivity habits.
That was to have a planner that served its primary functions without feeling overwhelming or cluttered. This perspective shaped both the use cases and the people I interviewed, including other students and professionals who were looking for something similar.

Positioning
Lavender is a Pomodoro timer and productivity platform that helps users improve time management and task organization. Unlike tools like Notion, Evernote, and Asana, Lavender is specifically designed to enhance focus and build lasting productivity habits.
Other platforms offer space for managing tasks, but Lavender fills the gap by centralizing everything in one place. It's the ideal solution for busy people who need to manage their work without constantly switching between apps.

Identity Design
To craft the identity for Lavender, I asked myself, "What does it feel like to be truly productive?" The answer is a feeling of tranquility and peace—that serene sensation you get when you've accomplished everything on your list. This feeling of bliss is what I wanted to capture in the brand.
The name and color palette were chosen to reflect that soft, rewarding feeling of a day well spent. The Lavender logo is designed to be friendly and approachable, embodying the satisfaction and relief of a productive day.

Device Ecosystem
The ecosystem is built around how your actions connect to the entire platform. Whether you're using a wearable device or your desktop computer, every interaction fuels the system that ultimately benefits the user. When you start a study session, Lavender analyzes your activity to provide personalized tips and insights into your habits.
Instead of just logging numbers, your inputs—like marking tasks as complete and tracking your study time—helps Lavender analyze your progress and find ways to boost your productivity.

IA and Wireframe
Through researching user habits, I found that many people are reluctant to record their work, as it feels like an extra layer of friction that gets in the way of actually getting things done. This core insight heavily influenced the information architecture and wireframe design for Lavender.
This means the core functionality—starting a timer and seeing your most important tasks—is always front and center. Deeper levels of the app, like task management and advanced customization, are placed a few layers in.

The Platform
Beyond a simple timer, I wanted to discover other ways to enhance a user's productivity. My research revealed that users need a clear overview of their remaining tasks to truly feel in control. This insight led to a major design decision: creating a centralized task management hub.
By outlining all their work in one place, users can better manage their time and feel more in control of their productivity. Overall, this project taught me the power of using user insights to drive design decisions.
